The walk-in fridge, the dry store, the freezer, the bar. Storage areas say where things sit at a venue, so a count follows the way you walk the kitchen, and an order list reads shelf by shelf.
The areas of a venue
Each venue has its own areas. In the app: Kitchen → Categories & Storage, tab Storage areas.
| Area | Products | |
|---|---|---|
| Walk-in Fridge | 142 | 3↑ ↓ ✎ 🗑 |
| Dry Store | 96 | ↑ ↓ ✎ 🗑 |

- 1The Storage areas tab, next to Categories.
- 2Add area — give it a name, Walk-in Fridge.
- 3Reorder, rename, delete.
Each area shows how many Products sit in it. The arrows set the order; the pencil renames; the bin deletes. An area that still holds products asks first where they go: Move the products to.
Putting a product in an area
Open the product’s sheet and click Edit. Under the name, Storage areas: type and pick.
- 1A product can sit in several areas. The first one is its Primary area; the × takes an area off.
Cream sits in the walk-in and in the bar fridge. Give it both areas. The first is the Primary area. A product with no area shows No area.
A preparation can have a storage area too, on its recipe — see Recipes.
Counting by area
On Inventory Count, the area filter narrows the list to one area: walk the walk-in, count the walk-in.
| Item | Theoretical | On hand | Variance | Waste | 🔒 |

- 1The area you are counting. All areas shows everything; No area shows products without one.
- 2A product in several areas: what was counted in each, and the line’s total is the sum.
Each area is counted on its own. You type what you see in the walk-in; later, in the bar, you type what you see there. The line keeps both — Walk-in Fridge 6 000 · Bar 2 000 ml — and its on hand is the sum.
A product that sits in several areas cannot be counted with All areas selected, because NexReps would not know which area you are standing in: the row says Pick an area in the filter to count this item. Choose the area and type.
A count typed before the product had areas, or with no area, belongs to its primary area.
On the phone, the count has the same area filter. See Inventory Count.
Areas elsewhere
Order filters by area, so you can build the order standing in front of the shelf. See Order.
Areas sort and split; they never change a price or a cost.
