You already have your menu, printed. Import it, and NexReps creates the sections and items for you — after you have checked every one. In the app: Kitchen → Menu → Import from PDF.
Reading the menu
- 1Import from PDF, at the top of the Menu page.
- 2Service — which service this printed menu is.
- 3Choose file — a PDF or a photo of the menu.
- 4Read menu — about 10 to 30 seconds.
A printed menu is one service: import the dinner menu as Dinner, the brunch menu as Brunch. Pick the Service first, then Choose file: a PDF or a photo. Read menu reads the sections, the items and their prices. It takes 10 to 30 seconds.

Checking what was read
| Item | Price | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lamb Rackherb crust, jus | $48.00 | 2New | |
| Short Rib | $42.00 | New | |
| Chef’s Pasta | No price | New |
| Item | Price | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Burrata | $22.00 | Price $19.00 → $22.00 | |
| Fries | $9.00 | On menu |
- 1A section, ticked to import. New section or Existing section.
- 2What each item is: New, a price change, or already On menu.
- 3Import creates only what is ticked.
The window lists what it found, section by section. Each section says whether it is a New section or an Existing section of your menu; its tick selects or clears every item in it.
Each item shows its Price — or No price — and its status:
New — not on your menu yet.
Price $19.00 → $22.00 — on your menu, at another price. Ticked, the price is updated.
On menu — already there, nothing to do.
Check the prices against the paper. Untick what you do not want, then Import 4 items. Choose another file starts again.
Nothing is removed
Items that are on your menu but not in the file are listed at the end: On the menu, not in this file. An import never deletes them. If they are gone from the menu, delete them yourself on the Menu page.
After the import
The new items have no link yet. Link each one to its POS item and to its recipe — see Menu. Until then, they count in no food cost.
