Two cases of romaine arrived wilted, and the driver took them back. The invoice is validated, the stock already went up. A return takes them out again — and keeps track of the credit the supplier owes you.
Returns live on a processed invoice: Kitchen → Invoices, tab Processed, open the invoice.

- 2Confirm credit — when the credit note arrives, type what the supplier actually credited.
Returning a line
On the invoice, under the lines, the Returns card. Click Return a line.
- 1The quantity, in the unit of the line as bought — 2 cases, not 24 heads.
- 2Record return takes the stock out now.
Invoice line — the line the goods came on. Only a line that put a product in stock can be returned, and never more than it received.
Quantity — in the line’s unit as bought.
Reason — Quality, Wrong item, Damaged, Expired, Over-delivery or Other.
Note (optional) — what the supplier was told.
Record return. The stock goes down at once; the product’s stock history shows it as a Return.
The credit
Until the supplier confirms, the credit is an estimate: it shows with est. and the status Pending credit.
When the credit note arrives, click Confirm credit: Credit (before tax), Tax, and the Credit note reference if there is one. The status turns to Credited. Edit credit corrects it later.
The card’s header keeps the sum: what was billed, the credits, the net, and how many credits are still pending.
Cancelling a return
Cancel on the row, then Cancel return. The units go back into stock, and a confirmed credit is dropped. The status turns to Cancelled. Keep return closes the window without changing anything.
An invoice with returns cannot be reverted. Cancel its returns first, then revert it — see Invoices.
Return or waste?
A return is goods that went back to the supplier. Goods you threw away yourself are waste.
