Sales by service

The day, split into its services — Lunch, Dinner, Late Night. When the room does two different jobs in one day, a single total hides which one is working.

  1. 1One tab per service, with its net sales. Click a tab to read that service.

  3. 3The service’s categories, by net sales: quantity, discount when there is one, net. See more shows the rest.

Where it shows

Once it is on for a venue, the split appears on:

  • Daily — the day, next to the Discount and Voids card. Also on the venue’s page opened from the Dashboard.
  • Weekly and Monthly — the whole week or month, by service.
  • Reports — a single-venue report of up to 93 days. A longer one says to pick a shorter period.
  • The mobile app — on the venue’s day, under Revenue · Hour by Hour.

The switch also adds the services to the GM daily email and to the PDFs.

Reading a service

Under each tab: Checks, Guests, Avg / check and Avg / guest for that service, its share of the day as 72% of net, then its categories.

The useful comparison is lunch against dinner, not lunch against the day. A lunch at $28 a guest and a dinner at $70 are two different rooms sharing a kitchen — and a discount problem in one rarely shows in the other.

How a check finds its service

NexReps uses the service your POS writes on each check when it has one. When it does not, NexReps uses the venue’s Service Hours: a check closed at 8:30pm falls in Dinner if Dinner runs 17:00 to 23:30.

A check that matches no service is counted under Other. NexReps never shows Other on its own: a day where no check found its service shows no split at all, because a single “Other” says nothing.

A day with one service only — Dinner on a Monday — still shows that service and its figures. On desktop it sits under a single tab; on mobile the section shows the service’s name and net instead of tabs.

Turning it on

Sales by service is off by default. An org admin turns it on per venue.

2Sales by serviceThe day per service (Lunch, Dinner…) on the daily screens, the GM daily email and the PDFs. Leave off for a club or a one-service venue
  1. 1In Settings → Venues, open the venue.
  2. 2Under Modules, switch on Sales by service.
  3. 3If your POS does not name its services, set the venue’s Service Hours: a name (Lunch, Dinner, Brunch, Late Night), a start, an end and the active days.

Leave it off for a club or a venue with one service: a single tab every day adds nothing.

Where it is set

The switch is in the venue’s modules — see Venue modules; the service hours are in Venues.
