Two pages in the Kitchen section, one for each kind of work. Preps are what the line needs made — a sauce, a stock, a dough — from a preparation of your venue, with a planned quantity in its unit. Tasks are the rest of the kitchen's work: clean the hood, change the fryer oil, receive the fish.
Creating one
New prep or New task. A prep starts from a preparation you type to find; its yield fills the planned quantity, which you can change. A task is a title.
Day — today or later. Nothing is planned in the past.
Priority — Normal or Urgent. An urgent item comes first in its day, shows Urgent in red where it would show Assigned, and the cook's notification starts with URGENT.
Cook — the cooks of this venue, and only them. Leave it empty to assign later.
Note — anything the cook should read first.
Every week
Turn on Repeat every week and pick the days. The item appears on each of those days, for the cook you chose, and sits in the Recurring list where you can change or pause it. Pausing plans nothing more; what a cook already did stays.
Reading the page
One card per period, always in the same order: Overdue when something was left undone, then Today, This week and Later. An empty card says so.
Not assigned — nobody has it yet. Assigned — a cook has it. Urgent — assigned and urgent. Transfer offered — the cook offered it to a colleague. Done — validated, with the quantity made for a prep.
Overdue — not done by the end of its business day. It turns red at the day switch and the venue's chefs are told once.
Changing one
Click it. Change the planned quantity, the day or the priority; give it to a cook; mark it done with the quantity made; write a note to the cook. One Save applies everything, in that order. The history keeps who did what and when.
Cancel item stays apart, behind a confirmation. An item can be deleted for good until the cook has done it; a recurring one can be deleted for one day or for the whole series.
