Every line of a supplier invoice must post to a GL account of your chart. Accounting → Product Mapping says which account each product posts to, per company — one QuickBooks file, one chart of accounts. The page does not compute anything: it shows the account the export will use today.

Reading the page
Pick the company. The header counts the products that are unmapped, inherited and mapped for this company.
Each row is an active product with its suppliers, its category, the Account it posts to and where that account comes from, the day it was Last bought, and its Status:
Mapped — an account set for this company. Inherited — no account for this company, so it falls back on the product’s default or the supplier’s default; the account cell says which (Product default, Supplier default). Unmapped — it posts nowhere.
Filter on All products, Unmapped, Inherited (product or supplier default) or Mapped for this company, and search by name.
Before an export
When products bought in the last 30 days post nowhere, a banner says how many: an export would refuse their invoices. Filter on Unmapped and set their accounts first.
Setting an account
Click the account cell of a product, or tick several and Set account. Pick the GL account, then Save on N products. The list offers the company’s expense, cost of goods and inventory accounts only — not the bank.
No company mapping (fall back to the product or supplier account) clears the choice: the product goes back to its default.
- 1The GL account, from this company’s chart.
- 2Save on 2 products.
If the list is empty, the company has no chart of accounts yet: import it on Entities first.
